HOOD 2 GOOD is a fictional but inspirational story about
resilience, survival and encouragement written by Preston Nelson. Although HOOD 2 GOOD is fictional many people
can relate to the messages in this story. The main characters in this story
(Dionne, Darlene and Pierre) were exposed to dangerous, dire situations early
in their lives because they grew up in a downtrodden area of the city that was
called "Quindaro." A good Samaritan (Pierre) who is one of the
characters that grew up in the same downtrodden part of the city was determined
to live a better life and move to a better part of the city. The story tells
all of the trials, tribulations and even something illegal the good Samaritan
did towards reaching his goal of living a better life and moving to a better
neighborhood and the resilience and character he developed living in a tough
environment along the way, again he never wavered from this goal, with his
focus and perseverance he made it to a point he knew one day he could move out
of Quindaro. One evening the good Samaritan was out celebrating his success of
being able to move out of Quindaro one day, while he was out celebrating he
encountered two little girls in the neighborhood that were being attacked. The
good Samaritan rescued the girls and from that point on he dedicated his life
to making sure the girls grew up in a safe, clean comfortable home with peace
of mind so they could elevate in life. Because of the horrendous situation the
good Samaritan rescued the girls from he also made it a point to also help the
girls heal mentally from all the trauma they endured because he knew the trauma
effected the girls mentally, although some of their healing process came via
violence but the goal was to make sure the girls were healthy physically and
mentally, their mental health was just as important as their physical health to
the good Samaritan so the good Samaritan helped the girls with their mental
health in an untraditional way again some of it was through violence. This
story is encouraging because it shows with focus and resilience a person can
not only overcome their circumstances but will be stronger in the end. Along
with the encouragement, there is also a positive message in this story and that
is against all the odds a person can have against them with perseverance and
staying focused a person can elevate from their circumstances and succeed and
that's what the good Samaritan always wanted for the girls. The good Samaritan
prioritized the girls and he had a "By any means necessary mentality"
about protecting the girls, he was very serious and brutal when it came to
protecting the girls and eliminating the threats the girls were initially
exposed to. He ensured the girls grew up with peace of mind so they could soar
to their full potential. The good
Samaritan had a girlfriend (Tiffany) initially they had a good relationship but
as time went by the girlfriend became jealous of the relationship the good
Samaritan developed with the girls and she betrayed the good Samaritan because
the good Samaritan and the girls were very close. The girls mother (Taylor) who
is a physically beautiful woman, a Christian and also addicted to drugs
abandoned the girls which led to them being in the horrendous situation the
good Samaritan rescued them from. Unfortunately the girls mother was also
promiscuous therefore was involved with quite a few men, one being a reverend
that was rumored to be one of the girls father. The girls family never tried to
adopt them or take them in, as a matter of fact none of their family had
anything to do with them, which made the good Samaritan more attached to them,
he was all the girls had. The good Samaritan and the girls close bond turned
out to be stronger than most families. The girls respected the good Samaritan a
lot but when they became teenagers sometimes they would give him attitude like most
teenagers. One of the girls (Dionne) was cold because she dealt with more
negativity than her sister and because of that she developed a gangsters
mentality and spoke what was on her mind without a filter. But with the good
Samaritans guidance she eventually got a handle on it. The girls had lots of
friends they inadvertently learned that one of their friends that hung out with
them was a relative and the way he thought about things made way for some
humorous situations. Another close friend in particular they grew up with
(Cookie) whose on the wild side and didn't have her father in her life also encountered
some unusual and humorous situations, although this friend was wild and weird
sometimes, she is a real good, dependable friend to the girls. Because of encounters with a few other
characters throughout the story quite a few one liners and jokes transpired in
this storyline. The good Samaritan also helped Cookie a time or two, Cookie had
a bad relationship with her mother one of the reasons Cookie had a bad
relationship with her mother is Cookie's mothers boyfriend tried to sleep with
Cookie and Cookie's mother didn't believe Cookie when Cookie told her mother. So
Cookie spent a lot of time with the girls. As time went by the girls grew up to
be some beautiful, intelligent young women, the girls were good observational
learners so with the good Samaritans guidance they learned from observing some
of their friends and their mother who abandoned them what to do and not to do.
The girls always knew their life would've been a lot different in a very
negative way if the good Samaritan (Pierre) didn't intervene. The girls were
use to traveling from all the years we all traveled together.
